“New Group of 500-700 Terrorists Entered the Territory of Abkhazia” – Interfax

New group of 500-700 Georgian and Chechen terrorists entered the mountainous part of Abkhazia from the territory of Georgia, reported Russian news agency Interfax quoting the deputy minister of defense of self-declared Republic of Abkhazia Garry Kupalba.

Tbilisi officials make no comment regarding the news but admit that armed clashed took place near Ochamchire between Georgian-Chechen guerrillas and Abkhazian military units today early in the morning. After having succeeded guerrillas had to give up positions in Ochamchire region.

The Georgian government does not control Ochamchire region.
