One Georgian soldier died and another one is wounded as a result of mine explosion in Kodori gorge on October 19, Georgian news agency Caucasus Press reports, quoting representative of the Kodori Governor’s office.
Governor’s office does not exclude that the mine could be thrown down from the Abkhazian helicopter which bombed Marukhi pass, Abkhazia on October 17.
Russian news service Interfax reported yesterday that the lieutenant colonel of the Georgian army was killed during the arm clash between the Abkhazians and Chechen-Georgian fighters.
Defense Ministry of Georgia denied the information. Ministry declares that Georgian army do not participate in the fighting between Abkhazians and Chechen-Georgian intruders.
