Bombardment of Kodori Gorge Continues

6 helicopters MI – 24 and 4 jets SU-25 “Frogfoot” flied from Sukhumi, capital of breakaway unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia this morning at 4:15 a.m., bombing the adjacent areas of Marukhi pass located in Kodori gorge – the only part of Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government.

Defense Ministry of Georgia reports that there is no casualties because the unpopulated areas were bombed.

Abkhazians do not have 4 SU-25 therefore it is likely that the Russian jets bombed Marukhi pass, spokeswoman of the Defense Ministry Nino Sturua announced.

This is the second case of bombing Marukhi pass. 6 helicopters MI-24 flied from Sukhumi and bombed the pass on October 17.
