Shevardnadze Against Preliminary Parliamentary and Presidential Elections
President Shevardnadze excludes possibility of holding preliminary parliamentary and presidential elections. During today’s briefing, Shevardnadze announced that he is not going to leave his post.
Present constitution has no provision for the preliminary parliamentary elections. We need to amend the constitution to hold the elections, said Shevardnadze.
On November 4th member of the parliament, former minister of justice Mikheil Saakashvili stated that it is necessary to hold preliminary parliamentary and presidential elections and start working on the project of constitutional amendments.
