Shevardnadze Against Preliminary Parliamentary and Presidential Elections

President Shevardnadze excludes possibility of holding preliminary parliamentary and presidential elections. During today’s briefing, Shevardnadze announced that he is not going to leave his post.

Present constitution has no provision for the preliminary parliamentary elections. We need to amend the constitution to hold the elections, said Shevardnadze.
