Parliamentary Session to Elect the Chairman of the Parliament Today

(Tbilisi. November 6. Civil Georgia) – Today Parliament is to discuss the candidatures on the post of the Parliamentary Chairman. Reformers team member Nino Burjanadze and the pro-Presidential faction Tanadgoma’s leader Elguja Medzmariashvili are the main contenders on the post.

The Citizen’s Union faction plans to discuss the issue of the preliminary elections of the president and the parliament, Giorgi Baramidze stated on November 5.

President Shevardnadze is against of the preliminary elections. “I do not intend to resign”, Eduard Shevardnadze announced yesterday.
