Parliament Waiting for Report on Reasons of not Fulfilling State Budget
(Tbilisi. November 26. Civil Georgia) – The Parliament is waiting for a report of the special commission examining the reasons of not fulfilling the 2001 state budget. According to the preliminary information the main responsibility lays on Finance and Tex Revenue Ministries. President Shevardnadze is to sign the document today. After the Presidential approval report will be submitted to the Parliament.
Ex-Finance and ex-Tax Revenue Ministers Zurab Nogaideli and Mikheil Machavariani criticized the report and stated that entire government was responsible for failing to fulfill the budget.
Re-appointment of Zurab Nogaideli on the post of the Finance Minister will largely depend on the report of the special commission.
According to the amendments passed by the Parliament on October 23, expenditures in the budget of 2001 were reduced with 183 million GEL ($91 million).
