Burjanadze Calls Internal Affairs Ministry for Fundamental Changes

(Tbilisi. December 5. Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Chairman Nino Burjanadze stated today that more radical reforms should be passed in the Internal Affairs Ministry.

“Resignation of ex-minister Kakha Targamadze is not enough. All the high officials of the Ministry associated to the old corrupted system should leave their posts,” Nino Burjanadze stated at the briefing today.

Internal Affairs Minister Koba Narchemashvili dismissed two deputy ministers today. First Deputy Minister Zurab Chkhaidze is not among them.

Zurab Chkhaidze threatened independent TV company Rustavi 2 to take legal actions against the broadcasting company in October. In the wake of the threat the State Security Ministry raided the TV company.
