Ombudsperson Urges the Parliament to Investigate Suicides in Army
(Tbilisi. December 19. Civil Georgia) – “The Parliament should form a special commission to investigate the frequent cases of murders and suicide in the Georgian army,” Ombudsperson Nana Devdariani state today at meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights today. Ombudsperson made her annual report concerning the violation of the human rights in Georgia.
Ombudsperson stated that from 1991 till now more then 100 soldiers died in the army. The reason is existence of violence, corruption and hard social conditions in the Georgian military forces, Nana Devdariani stated.
