(Tbilisi. December 20. Civil Georgia) – “Georgia is not prepared for the antiterrorist efforts in the Caucasus,” Russian new service Interfax reports quoting Sergei Ivanov, Defense Minister of Russian Federation.
Pankisi gorge remains inaccessible for the Georgian authorities, Ivanov stated in London at the press conference today . “This Georgian region is occupied by terrorists,” he said.
Russia constantly accuses Georgia in harboring Chechen fighters and Arab mercenaries in Pankisi gorge, bordering rebel republic of Chechnya.
