Electricity Supply Increased form Russia After Explosion at the Power Plant
(Tbilisi. December 24. Civil Georgia) – Georgian Energy Minister Davit Mirstskhulava stated yesterday that Georgia increased electricity supply from Russia because of the explosion at the power-generating unit owned by the American AES company.
Georgia holds negotiations with Armenia as well to increase electricity supply.
Law enforcers say that it is impossible to determine the exact reason of the explosion till the clearing operations carried out in the power station are not over. According to the preliminary information leak of gas was the reason of the explosion.
The representatives of the First Lobby, company defending the interests of the AES, do not exclude the possibility of the terrorist act.
Capital of Georgia Tbilisi was blacked out on December 22 after the explosion. Tbilisi has a limited supply of electricity at the moment.
