Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to Sign an Agreement on Security

(Tbilisi. December 29. Civil Georgia) – Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey will sign an agreement on security issues in 2002. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Unal Chevikoz stated on December 27 that the treaty would enable three states of the region to cooperate in combat against terrorism and smuggling.

On November 9, during his visit to Georgia Turkish president Ahmet Necdet Sezer proposed President Shevardnadze to sign three-party (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey,) agreement on joint combating against terrorism. Georgian President has agreed to the proposal of Turkish President.
