(Tbilisi. January 9. Civil Georgia) – On January 8 at the National Security Council, President Shevardnadze condemned inadequate activity of law enforcers to defeat terrorism and kidnappings in Georgia, independent broadcasting company Rustavi 2 reported.
Security Council meeting discussed situation in Pankisi gorge, eastern mountainous region of Georgia, where Relatives of abducted monk Basil Machitadze, together with the Union of Combatants Fighting in Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan war are protesting demanding monk’s release.
