No Compromise on 2002 Draft Budget

(Tbilisi, January 12, Civil Georgia) – The government does not agree on increasing expenditures in the draft budget for 2002, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Tax and Revenue Vitali Khazaradze states.

MPs insist of increasing spending in 2002 by 100-150 million Lari (approximately $49-74 million).

Legislatures and representatives of the executive government hold consultations on the draft budget since January 4.

The Parliament is to discuss the draft in the next week at the special Parliamentary session.
