Protesters Mine the Routes to Abkhazia

(Tbilisi, January 22, Civil Georgia) Protesters at Enguri bridge reportedly started to mine the routes blocking entry of the Russian peacekeepers and UN observers to Abkhazia.

The protests are staged by the displaced persons and Georgian partisans, which today were joined by the Abkhazia government-in-exile. Protesters demand withdrawal of the Russian peacekeepers and advancement of the peacekeeper checkpoints further into Abkhazia – to Galidzga river.
