Britain Promises Assistance to Georgia

(Tbilisi, January 24, Civil Georgia) – “Georgia and Britain share particularly close relations. Britain will make efforts to help Georgia eliminate some of its current problems,” The director of the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Eastern Department, John Macgregor stated on January 23 during his two day working visit to Georgia.

British diplomat visited the OSCE observers, monitoring Chechen section of the Georgian-Russian border. John Macgregor stated that two British citizens were currently working in the OSCE’s monitoring mission, and that this number would rise to five by the summer 2002.

John Macgregor also meet the Georgian authorities and the heads of missions of international organizations in Georgia.
