CUG Supports Draft of 2002 Budget
(Tbilisi, January 28, Civil Georgia) – The Parliamentary faction Citizens’ Union of Georgia will support draft of the 2002 budget on the second reading, faction member Vitali Khazaradze, Chairman of the Tax and Revenue Committee state on January 28.
The CUG faction held a meeting with the State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze and the Finance Minister Zurab Nogaideli on January 28.
Khazaradze stated after the meeting that the government agreed to increase salaries for teachers, as well as on other issues.
Funding of Defense Ministry still remains a disputable issue. Only 38,5 million Lari ($16 million) is considered for the Georgian army in the 2002. MPs demand to increase military spending.
