Russian National Security Council Chairman Visits Georgia

(Tbilisi, January 29, Civil Georgia) – Chairman of Russian National Security Council Vladimer Rushailo visits Georgia on January 29. Meeting with the Georgian President Shevardnadze is planned.

It is anticipated that the issues of Russian peacekeeping troops, deployed in Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone and Chechen refugees living in Pankisi gorge, eastern Georgia will be discussed.

Georgian President Shevardnadze stated at the regular news briefing on January 28 that during his meeting with Vladimer Rushailo decision will be taken concerning a visit to Georgia of a special Russian commission, which will consider possibilities for the return of Chechen refugees to their homes.
