Georgia not Pulling Out Military Units from Kodori
(Tbilisi, February 1, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Defense Ministry denies reports corning withdrawal of military units from Kodori gorge, breakaway region of Abkhazia.
Russian news agency Interfax reported on February 1 quoting UNOMIG chief military observer Anis Ahmed Bajwa that the Georgian side initiated withdrawal of its military units form Kodori.
According to protocol signed by the Georgian Special Affairs Minister Malkhaz Kakabadze Georgia is to pull out troops form the gorge.
UN Security Council resolution, adopted on January 31, says that the terms of protocol signed by the Georgian and the Abkhazian sides should be implemented.
