Governor Accused in Corruption Dismissed
(Tbilisi, February 11, Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze dismissed Koba Buchukuri, Governor of Mtkheta-Mtianeti region on February 10.
On February 9 Secretary of Anticorruption Council Mirian Gogiashvili stated at the government meeting that Buchukuri owned shares in several companies. It is prohibited for the state officials to carry out commercial activities.
Gogiashvili also stated that the governor did not indicate his shares in the tax files.
