Georgia and Russia Satisfied with Drafting Framework Agreement

(Tbilisi, February 15, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Foreign Affairs Minister Irakli Menagarishvili stated that important progress is made in negotiations between Russia and Georgia on the framework agreement.

Menagarishvili visits Moscow on February 14-15 and holds negotiations with the chairman of the Russian Duma committee for CIS affairs Boris Pastukhov, who leads the Russian delegations on talks.

Pastukhov told Interfax, Russian news agency on February 15, that the sides exchanged opinions on the agreement that will determine relations between Russia and Georgia.

Georgian Foreign Minister stated after the meeting with Pastukhov that issue of lifting of visa requirements between two countries might be raised during the next stage of the negotiation that will be held in Tbilisi in March.
