Abkhaz Say Chechen Warlord Moved to Abkhazia

(Tbilisi, February 20, Civil Georgia) – Russian news agency Interfax reports quoting representative of the Security Service of unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia Zurab Agumaa, that Chechen field commander Ruslan Gelaev moved to Abkhazia from Pankisi gorge.

Press service of Georgian State Security Ministry stated on February 20, that the Ministry has no information concerning the report so far.

Abkhazian security service says that Gelaev intends to attack one of the villages in northern mountainous region of Abkhazia, which borders Russian Federation.

Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania admitted in early February, that Chechen warlord was in Pankisi gorge but he has no information where Gelaev was hiding at that moment.

Last October group of Chechen guerrillas allegedly led by Gelaev together allied with Georgian partisans to attack Abkhazian military units in the lower part of Kodori gorge.
