President to Participate in CIS Summit

(Tbilisi, February 27, Civil Georgia) – Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze will participate in the summit of Commonwealth of Independent States [CIS] in Almaty on March 1.

After the death of Georgian National Security Council Secretary Nugzar Sajaia on February 25, it was anticipated that President Shevardnadze would refuse to participate in the summit.

This is an informal meeting of leaders of the CIS countries.
