Shevardnadze says Russian Statements on Abkhazia “Stupid”
(Tbilisi, February 28, Civil Georgia) President Eduard Shevardnadze said today in televised interview that the statements of the Russian parliament officials on recognizing Abkhazian independence are “stupid.”
Shevardnadze thus replied to the statements of the Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Russian Duma Council Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs.
Rogozin stated yesterday, that if the U.S. troops are engaged in Georgia, Russia would consider recognizing Abkhazian independence on March 5 Committee session.
