Putin Says No Tragedy in US-Georgian Cooperation

(Tbilisi, March 1, Civil Georgia) – “There is no tragedy that Georgia cooperates with the United States to combat international terrorism,” Russian President Vladimer Putin stated on March 1.

President Putin said that Georgian side did not inform Russia that US military experts intended to arrive to Georgia. This caused Russia’ concern, Vladimer Putin stated.

Russian President is to meet his Georgian counterpart Eduard Shevardnadze in Kazakhstan at the informal summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States on March 1.

Situation in Pankisi gorge and the US military assistance to Georgia will be the main topics of talks between the two Presidents.
