(Tbilisi, March 5, Civil Georgia) – Russian Energy Company ITERA stopped supplying Tbilisi, Georgian capital, with gas early this morning.
According to the company, Tbilgazi, distributing gas throughout Tbilisi, failed to pay the debt of 1 400 000 Lari (approximately 700 000 USD) of the gas used in January.
Tbilgazi was to pay the amount to Sakgazi, a company owned by ITERA, by February 15.
Tbilgzi owes a debt of over 26 million Lari (approximately 13 million USD). Debt of the whole Georgia to ITERA is 90 million USD.
