Anti-Corruption Council Member Accuses Influential Governor in Corruption
(Tbilisi, March 19, Civil Georgia) – Anti-Corruption Council member Givi Targamadze accuses influential and pro-Presidential governor of Kvemo Kartli region Levan Mamaladze in money laundering and corruption.
At the press conference on March 19 Givi Targamadze stated that governor and his close relatives have interests and shares in the businesses and factories located in Kvemo Kartli region.
Targamadze presented documentation according to which governor Mamaladze carried out numerous transfers to launder money.
Levan Mamaladze is leader of the Citizens’ Union of Georgia [CUG] party faction, which opposes reformers, wing of the CUG party led by former Parliamentary Chairman Zurab Zhvania.
