Russian MPs Prepared New Statement on Georgia
(Tbilisi, March 21, Civil Georgia) – At the joint meeting of the Russian Duma Council Committees on CIS, Defense and Foreign Affairs on March 21, Russian Parliamentarians prepared statement concerning the situation in Abkhazia.
Russian MPs will discuss the statement at the Parliamentary session on March 22.
Russian media sources report that according to the statement MPs demand from the Russian government to send humanitarian aid to the Abkhazian and South Ossetian regions.
Russian Duma Council has already adopted statement concerning the situation in Abkhazia and US military assistance to Georgia on March 6.
Russian officials claim that situation is aggravating in the conflict zones in Georgia and the renewal of armed conflict in Abkhazia and South Ossetia is anticipated.
Georgian Defense Ministry denies reports that Georgia is preparing for the military actions in its breakaway regions.
