No Link Between US Assistance and Abkhazia – Georgian Security Chief
(Tbilisi, March 22, Civil Georgia) – Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania states that US military assistance to Georgia should not be linked to the Abkhazian conflict.
In the interview to the TV company Rustavi 2 on march 21 Khaburdzania stated that training of Georgian troops by the US military instructors does not mean that Georgia launches military operations in Abkhazia.
The Minister restated that he has information concerning the presence of terrorists in breakaway Abkhazia.
Russian officials express concern over the situation in Abkhazia. They claim that Georgia is preparing for the military operations against the breakaway Abkhazia.
