Tbilisi Police New Chief Appointed
(Tbilisi, March 25, Civil Georgia) – Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili appointed Levan Maisuradze on the post of the chief of Tbilisi [Georgian capital] Police Department on March 25.
Maisuradze was the head of the Interpol’s Georgian division. He replaced Kakha Bakuradze, who left the post on March 22.
It is still unknown the real reason of Bakuradze’s resignation. It is thought that decision was caused because of Anti-Corruption Council Secretary Mirian Gogiashvili’s statement that the law enforcement agencies are the most corrupted structures.
Gogiashvili said that all the corrupted high officials would be dismissed.
