Russia Concerned Over Abkhazia

(Tbilisi, March 27, Civil Georgia) – Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov stated on March 27, that Russia is concerned over the situation in Abkhazia gorge.

“We carefully observe the situation there [Abkhazia]. Our peacekeepers in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone will react immediately in case of threat,” Russian news agency Interfax reports quoting Sergei Ivanov.

Four Russian peacekeepers were abducted on in mid-March from the conflict zone and swapped later for two Georgians.

Russian Defense Minister stated that all the measures are taken to avoid this kind of incidents in the future.
