No US Military Bases in Georgia – Georgian Security Chief Says

(Tbilisi, March 31, Civil Georgia) – Creation of US military bases in Georgia is not planned, Georgian National Security Council Secretary Tedo Japaridze stated after the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimer Rushailo on March 30.

Japaridze also excluded US-Georgian joint antiterrorist operations in Georgia’s lawless Pankisi gorge.

“During the meeting with Vladimer Rushailo we discussed wide range of issues, including situation in Abkhazian and Pankisi, also bilateral economic relations,” Japaridze told the journalist after the meeting with the Russian security chief.
