Russian Large-Scale Military Exercises at the Georgian Border

(Tbilisi, April 3, Civil Georgia) – Russian armed forces hold large-scale military exercises in North Ossetia, bordering Georgia’s breakaway South Ossetian region, Russian media sources report on April 3.

Russia’s 58th army participates in the exercises. According to the exercises army should cope with the imaginary enemy that tries to infiltrate from Georgia into Russia.

Unofficial reports said earlier that Russian armed forcers were on to high-alert at the Georgian border due to the tensed situation in the Georgia’ breakaway region of Abkhazia.
