Georgian-Abkhazian Talks Social-Economic Problems
Georgian and Abkhazian sides are to discuss social-economic problems during the talks in Sokhumi, capital of breakaway Abkhazia on April 8.
Georgian Special Affairs Minister Malkhaz Kakabadze leads Georgian delegation. UN Secretary General’s special representative to Georgia Dieter Boden also participates in negotiations.
Neutralizing radioactive sources in Abkhazia, cooperation in telecommunications and education problems in Gali district of Abkhazia will be discussed during the meeting.
It is anticipated that recent attacks on Russian peacekeeping troops will be also discussed. Georgian side claims attacks on April 7 were provocation. Georgian guerrillas deny participation in attacks.
