UN Observers, Peacekeepers Monitoring Kodori Gorge
Observers from UN mission to Georgia and CIS peacekeepers deployed in Georgina-Abkhazian conflict zone launched monitoring of Kodori gorge on April 8.
They will observe implementation of April 2 protocol according to which Georgian Defence Ministry should pull out its units from troubled Kodori gorge, the only part of breakaway Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government, till April 10.
Observers will return to Sokhumi, breakaway Abkhazian capital late on April 9.
In return Abkhazian side should withdraw its units and heavy armament from Tkvarcheli distric and lower part of Kodori gorge.
