Georgia Denies Russian Relocation to Kodori Agreed with Tbilisi
“Russian officials’ statement that the peacekeepers move to Kodori was agreed with the Georgian authorities is absurd and false,” Georgian Foreign Affairs Minister Irakli Menagarishvili stated at the special news briefing on April 12.
Menagarishvili said that there is no document, or treaty that considers dispatching troops to Kodori.
“Georgian categorically demands from Russia to withdraw its troops from Kodori,” Menagarishvili stated.
Georgian Foreign Minister stated that UN mission’s chief military observer Anis Ahmed Bajwa also expressed concern regarding the Russian move and said that UN Mission to Georgia was not notified about dispatching troops to Kodori as well.
