Shevardnadze Calls Political Parties for Calm Election Campaign

(Tbilisi, May 13, Civil.ge) – In his Monday radiobroadcast on May 13, President Shevardnadze condemned political parties’ confrontation and called them to carry out quiet election campaign.

“I have a doubt that most of the parties will not receive people’s support. Only that party which is not involved in the political ‘trade’ will receive electorate’s sympathy in the local self-governance elections,” Eduard Shevardnadze said.

Georgian President stated that the election campaign will be the “moral examination” for the political parties.
