Turkey Grants Georgian Forces USD 2,9 Million
(Tbilisi, May 15, Civil.ge) – Delegation of General Staff of Turkish Armed Forces, led by Gen-Mayor Jihagir Dumanli, arrives in Georgia on May 15, Georgian Ministry of Defense [MoD] reports.
On May 15 Georgian and Turkish military officials will sign an agreement on transfer of grant to the Georgian side.
According to the Georgian MoD Turkey will grant Georgian side USD 2,9 million in 2002. USD 725,000 from this sum will be allocated in the development of the Georgian Border Guard Department.
During the visit Gen-Mayor Dumanli will hold talks with Georgian Defense Minister Gen-Lt. Davit Tevzadze and with Chief of General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces Gen-Lt. Joni Pirtskhalaishvili.
