NATO Delegation Visits Georgia

(Tbilisi, May 21, Civil Georgia) – A four-member delegation of NATO’s Commandment of South-Eastern Direction arrived in Tbilisi yesterday. The delegation is led by Col  Serj Labeh, who directs the international-multinational training “Best Effort 2002” planned to take place in Georgia, Georgian Defense Ministry reports.

The delegation will see the reconstructions taking place in Vasiani military base and make the final decision whether the base should be used for training or not.

Preparation for the “Best Effort 2002” will be over with this visit. The training itself will take place on June 17-28 in Vaziani base and NATO’s 14 member and partner countries will participate in it.

A training in the frames of NATO already occurred in Poti, Georgia, last year.
