(Tbilisi, May 21, Civil Georgia) – Akaki Asatiani, leader of the Traditionalist party, stated at the press conference held on May 21 that election fraud would be widespread during the local elections just like it was the case when the Citizens’ Union held parliamentary majority.

Asatiani also pointed out that these elections would not be serious and meaningful He said his party does not consider these elections very important and hopes that it will be over without any casualties.

Leader of the Traditionalists believes that the elections of June 2 are advantageous for President Shevardnadze who will chose  which political party to rely on afterwards.

“The only reason our party will participate in elections is that we are supported in some of the cities and have a chance to win. These cities are Telavi, Zestaponi, Vani and Khoni”, Asatiani stated.
