Russian Envoy to Offer Ways of Abkhazian Conflict Resolution

(Tbilisi, May 23, Civil Georgia) – Russian President’s personal representative for the Abkhazian conflict settlement, Deputy Foreign Minister Valeri Loshchinin told the reporters before the meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister today that he will present Georgian side proposals for the conflict resolution.

Meeting with Foreign Minister Irakli Menagarishvili is being held beyond the closed doors. Loshchinin did not specify what kind of proposals he intends to offer Georgian side.

Georgian side demands changes in the mandate of the peacekeepers and redeployment of troops deeper into the breakaway Abkhazian territory, Gali district.

Creation of the international administration in Gali district under the auspices of the UN is another demand of the Georgian side.
