Georgia Ready for Military Cooperation with Russia

(Tbilisi, May 27, Civil Georgia) – Georgian army did not and will not refuse Russian military assistance, Joni Pirtskhalaishvili, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces stated at the official ceremony of launching of the Train-and-Equip program on May 27.

“We would appreciate all kinds of assistance Russia would provide for Georgian military although till now we were not offered anything”, Georgian Deputy Defense Minister Gela Bezhuashvili told the reporters on May 27.

The United States allocates USD 64 million in the implementation of the Train-and-Equip program.
