Chechen Fighters Ready to Leave Pankisi
(Tbilisi, May 30, Civil Georgia) – Group of Chechen fighters hiding in Georgia’s troubled Pankisi gorge is ready to leave the area, Georgian Deputy State Security Minister Irakli Natsvrishvili told the reporters on May 30.
Security official said that the Georgian side is holding talks with the Chechen fighters as well as with the Russian security service to solve the problem peacefully.
According to the Georgian State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania up to 100 Arab and 800 fighters are harboring in Pankisi gorge at the moment.
