Interior Minister Refuses to Name Organizers of Hijacking Ballots in Rustavi

(Tbilisi, June 7, Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze categorically demanded from the Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili who was the organizer of hijacking of voting ballots from Rustavi town on June 2, that caused cancellation of the local elections in this town.

Interior Minister reports concerning the case to the Parliament at the Parliamentary session today.

Interior Minister stated that he has the detail information concerning the organizers of the hijacking, but the investigation is on and he has no right to name suspects at this stage.

Koba Narchemashvili stated at the session today that approximately 20-25 men attacked two cars carrying voting ballots and hijacked them.
