Military Equipment Stolen from Vaziani Military Base

(Tbilisi, June 10, Civil Georgia) – Reports say today that the 13 machineguns and other military equipment have been stolen from the Vaziani military base.

Press Secretary of the Georgian Defense Ministry Nino Sturua told the Civil Georgia that the ministry “does not confirm the report yet, we recheck the information”.

Modernized former Russian military base at the Vaziani was recently opened. The base corresponds to the international standards.
 
The base is to host the NATO military exercises in the frames of the Partnership for Peace program on June 17-27.

In Vaziani training of the Georgian battalions should take place in the frames of the Train-and-Equip program.
