Finance Minister Wants to Abolish Tax Exemptions

(Tbilisi, June 13, Civil Georgia) – The Finance Ministry presented to the Parliament amendments to the Tax Code, which considers cancellation of the tax exemptions.

Mirian Gogiashvili, the Finance Minister claims that the amendments will increase budgetary revenues for 50 million Lari (approximately USD 23 million) annually.

The Parliamentary faction Industrialists, influential businessmen lead the faction, are categorically against of these amendments.

The Industrialists elaborated new, liberal, Tax Code that considers minimization of the taxes. The bill will be presented in the Parliament in the nearest future.
