Parliamentary Committee Criticizes Government for the Budgetary Shortfall

(Tbilisi, June 14, Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary Committee on Budget and Finances discussed today the implementation of the budget of the first quarter of the 2002.

The shortfall during this period consisted 39 million Lari (approximately USD 17 million).

Members of the committee stated that there is no reason to give the political evaluation to the failure at the Committee’s meeting and they will criticize the government and especially State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze at the plenary session.

 The State Minister earlier this year took the responsibility for fulfillment of the budget of the first quarter of 2002.
