Constitutional Court to Discuss AES Case
(Tbilisi, June 21, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Constitutional Court took the decision today to discuss the claim of Shalva Natelashvili, leader of the Labors Party, to cancel the agreement between Georgian government and the U.S. company AES, controlling electricity distribution in Tbilisi.
Shalva Natelashvili claims that the agreement is “enslaving for the Georgian state” and demands to annul it.
The AES Corporation purchased Tbilisi electricity-distributing company Telasi for $25 million in 1998.
