Georgian New Envoy to the UN Appointed

(Tbilisi, June 22, Civil Georgia) – Parliament at the session on June 21 approved Revaz Adamia’s candidature on the post of the Georgia’s representative to the United Nations.

118 MPs voted for Adamia’s candidature, 19 – were against. The Revival block was the only Parliamentary group, which was against the candidature.

Revaz Adamia is a former Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security. He is the member of the Democrats’ faction, which is Zurab Zhvania’s supporter political group in the Parliament. Recently Adamia was not actively involved in the political activities.

Former Georgian representative to the UN Petre Chkheidze was appointed on the post of the Georgian ambassador to Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
