Georgian Border Guard Dies as Mine Explodes in Kodori
(Tbilisi, June 29, Civil Georgia) – One Georgian border guard died and another badly injured after the explosion of the land mine in Georgian controlled upper Kodori gorge, breakaway Abkhazia on June 28, Georgian Border Guard Department reports.
Wounded Georgian border guard was transported to Kutaisi (western Georgia) hospital with the helicopter of the Russian peacekeeping forces, deployed in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone.
On June 8 one Russian peacekeeper died and another one injured after the land mine exploded in lower part of Kodori gorge.
