Suspect in Hijacking Voting Ballots from Rustavi Town Arrested

(Tbilisi, July 4, Civil Georgia) – The police arrested suspect in hijacking of voting ballots on June 2 Rustavi (main town in Kvemo Kartli region) local self-governance elections.

The suspect is the former bodyguard of Levan Mamaladze, influential governor of Kvemo Kartli region. The hijacking of the ballots caused the locals cancellation and postponement in Rustavi. 

The several political groups accused Levan Mamaladze for masterminding the attack on car carrying the voting ballots.
